The Great Kapok

I am fascinated by this great Kapok tree. The tree a sacred symbol of the Maya civilization connects the three realms of our Earth - the underworld, the sky and the terrestrial. It is also known as the central world tree.

For me the tree symbolizes life. I find this tree mesmerizing and I feel a deep connection with it. I love watching the tree during my walks. Just being around this tree makes me calm and peaceful. The snow white - soft cotton that I see snowballing everywhere during this season reminds me that we all have something in us to share with the world. The red flowers that bloom post monsoon makes the tree look young and colourful.

A habitat for all creatures great and small, the tree keeps many living beings safe. The great eagle who likes to fly high loves to perch itself on the tallest branch. The tree not only shelters creatures from the animal kingdom, but also supports climbers (as seen in the image above).

The tree is also known for its medicinal value, the extract from the bark is used to treat headaches and its flowers, tender leaves and tender fruits are edible. Seeds too can be roasted and ground into a powder and used in soups and curries.

This tree that has so much to offer is definitely my inspiration to share my world with every being. It inspires me to share my reflections and learning from various experiences from my everyday life and also motivates me to talk about my life philosophy and approach...

A blog post about this tree can be found here.

I do hope you all enjoy reading!
